Last week a pedestrian legally crossing the street in the intersection of 5th and Flower in Downtown Los Angeles was struck and killed by a DASH bus. This tragic incident brings up questions of safety and what to do if you are involved in an accident while walking. For most of us, when we drive we make sure to have auto insurance, but for those of us that walk (me included) what do we have to do to stay safe.

1. Make sure to call 911 if you receive serious injuries.
